Alan Kreider Legacy Fund

At the London thanksgiving service for the life of Alan Kreider, the proposal was made to establish a legacy fund in his name. Responses then and since have indicated considerable support for this idea and have highlighted two purposes to which funds raised might be committed:

• Support for students undertaking research into Early Church history or Anabaptism – two subject areas of great interest to Alan.
• Resources to facilitate exchange visits between Anabaptists and Mennonites across the world – in memory of Alan’s global influence and friends in many nations.

The trustees of the Mennonite Trust in the UK have agreed to administer this fund, receiving donations and making payments in line with these purposes. An application form is available for those wishing to draw on this fund.

Donations can be made by completing the accompanying form and sending this to Ian Geere, the Trust’s office manager, at the address given on the form. The value of the donation can be increased by gift aiding it if the donor is a UK taxpayer.

There will be other ways of engaging with Alan’s legacy. The UK Anabaptist theology forum is hosting a special event on 11-12 April 2018, in which various sessions will explore some of Alan’s writings and their ongoing influence. And a special issue of Mennonite Quarterly Review in 2018 will carry several articles interacting with Alan’s scholarship.
