The work of Mennonite John Howard Yoder has been successful in bringing peace church theology into the mainstream. In particular, his book The Politics of Jesus has had a significant impact on Christians across all denominations during the past 30 years. This course will provide an introduction to Yoder’s thought and an opportunity to engage with his radical vision of Christian discipleship. Participants will be able to assess Yoder’s contribution to the peace church tradition and consider the significance of his thought for Quaker theology, peacemaking and social witness.
